Five Things: Anti-Defamation, Networking and Library Closings

Some of you may be off from work in preparation for the holiday. Take a moment to read up on stuff we thought you'd like to know about for Dec. 22.

1. If you're into schmoozing, elbow rubbing and the like, then definitely make a point to stop by today's East Bay Business Alliance and Networking Meeting. This will be the last meeting of the year due to the upcoming holidays.

2.Word on the street is that ever since Pinole Valley High School partnered with the Anti-Defamation League, racial tensions have reduced dramatically in the school. Efforts to improve student relations has been one focus of the West Contra Costa County School District.

3. Parents who have students attending Pinole Middle School can now read the PDF of the school's new plan for student achievement.

4. We certainly hope you've got plenty of books to read over the holiday break,  because starting today, the Pinole Public Library will be closed for furloughs.

5.  The Community Services Commission will be holding its  meeting tonight starting at 7 .p.m. The meeting will be held at 2131 Pear Street.
