Pinole Couple Get Reprieve on Auction of Their Home

Good Samaritan injured five years ago and his wife get help at 11th hour.

 

The Contra Costa Times reports that a man and his wife faced with the acution of their Pinole home have avoided the loss of their home for the time being, thanks to assistance from a county supervisor's office.

Unable to work after being hit in traffic after stopping to help a stranded driver on the freeway five years ago, Brian Burns and his wife, Machiel, have had difficulty paying their mortgage, the Times reported. Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia's referred to legal aid, which arranged for a bank to delay the sale of the house so there would be time to resolve the issue.
